“I wanted to give Bally a timeless feeling. There are no fickle details, it’s about delivering a beautifully made product that looks and feels good season after season,” explained Pablo Coppola, the Swiss label’s dapper design director, during the bustling New Bond Street boutique opening in West London last night.

His refined reinterpretation of the house played out throughout the sleek, three-story flagship, which—courtesy of storied architect David Chipperfield—was comprised of gray marble staircases, plush merlot leather furnishings, carved wooden walls, and elegant glass cabinets filled with standout pieces from the fall 2014 collection.

Fashionable attendees, including Tank’s enduringly chic Caroline Issa and supermodel Arizona Muse, who dazzled in a yellow crystal-embellished Emilio Pucci shift and bottle green knee-high boots by Bally (naturally), certainly seemed impressed by the whole affair. “Whatever you pick up feels absolutely beautiful. Being able to merge contemporary and classic is gift,” exclaimed Muse, while gently combing the backlit shelves of suede pumps that climbed the walls.

Upstairs, the event’s charismatic cohost Lupita Nyong’o marveled at the sharply tailored pinstripe coat and wide-leg pant combination that dressed the central mannequin. “I love classic, clean lines,” revealed the award-winning actress. “I also love strong block colors, as you can probably tell,” she added with a smile, tugging on her pale pink Bally skirt, which offset a pin-sharp mustard top and forest green belt. British model Lara Mullen, who looked striking in an ice white Marni coat and toffee-colored knit, also championed the label’s forever sensibility, stating, “Every woman wants pieces that she can wear again and again, it makes sense.”

Among the sea of shopping female style savants, it seemed fitting for the gentlemen attendees, including a suited and booted Benedict Cumberbatch and camel-coat clad Alexander Ludwig, to gravitate towards the waiters serving Ruinart champagne, canapés (golden truffles were the hot favorite), and the display of natty chestnut brown brogues and classic monk-strap loafers. Actor Luke Evans seemed additionally taken by Bally’s luxe shoeshine stand—one of the many well-executed nods to the brand’s bespoke heritage.
